Technology to control emissions from diesel engines for use in portable generators, construction and industrial equipment

Using cast iron pistons and an electronically controlled, high-pressure fuel injection system, Komatsu has developed an ideal method of fuel combustion. We have started mass producing engines featuring technologies such as integrating air-to-air aftercoolers into our engines to meet the stringent Tier II emission regulations in the United States, which took effect in 2001. We will deal with the up-coming regulations which are expected to be even stricter, and supply new models to the market ahead of the year when the regulations start.
